Details about the GCBA electoral process
The President of the Gwinnett County Bar Association appoints a Nominating Committee by March 1st of each year.
The Committee then nominates at least one and not more than three members of the Bar Association for the offices of President-Elect, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Nominations are open from April 1 until May 1 of each year. Nominations may be made in writing over the signatures of at least ten members of the organization by filing such nominations with the Nominating Committee no later than May 1st of each year or the first business day thereafter if this date occurs on a weekend or holiday.
Voting for the officers of this organization is conducted by mail. Ballots are to be mailed to the members no later than May 10th of each year. If this day falls on a weekend or holiday, the ballot is to be mailed no later than the first business day following May 10. The ballots must be returned to the Chairman of the Nominating Committee by June 1 of each year or other such time as the Board of Directors determines.
Persons to be elected as officers must be elected by a majority of the votes cast by the members of this organization
